oet lets you save a version of a course at key milestones and later view a version history to see all earlier versions.
Saving a version
- Click Versioning in the editor toolbar.
- Select Save As Version.
- Enter a comment describing the version (e.g. "Initial draft", "Client feedback incorporated", "Legal review complete"). This makes your history easy to navigate.
- Click Save Version.
Saved versions are read-only — you can't edit them directly, but you can view them to compare against the current version.
Viewing version history
- Click Versioning in the toolbar.
- Select Version History.
For each version, you'll see:
- Version number
- Timestamp of when it was created
- Author who created it
- Comment describing the version
View button to open that version
Completing a course review also writes entries to your Version History (e.g. "Review [id] completed: applied 3 accepted change(s)").
Tip: Versioning is separate from Download › Full Backup, which exports the whole course off-platform.
Use Save As Version for in-tool checkpoints; use Full Backup before major structural changes or handoffs.
