Find users in your organisation's user list and look at their details.
Before you start
To see the user list you need the permission to view users, which the Roles screen describes as "Allows you to view User table and individual user info". These are the default roles with this permission: Organisation Admin, User Manager, Organisation Support and Section Tutor. You can also see the user list if you hold the Group Support role in a group, which the Roles screen describes as "Allows you to view list of users".
Find a user
- Select Users in the navigation.
- If tabs appear above the list, select All.
The page lists active users in your organisation, 25 at a time. If you hold only the Group Support role, the list shows only the users that role covers. Active means that the user has not been removed, so a user whose account has expired is still listed.
A removed user no longer appears in the list, and the list has no tab or filter that shows removed users. To bring a removed user back, contact support.
You can search the list and sort it by selecting a column heading. The list has no filters for group, tag, role or status, so search and sorting are the ways to narrow it.
To search, type in the search box above the list. The search looks for your text anywhere in a person's Last Name, First Name, Username, Email, Organisation Reference, Function or Timezone, and in SSO Ident if your organisation uses single sign-on. Capital letters do not matter.
The columns are Last Name, First Name, Username, Email, Organisation Reference, Function, Timezone and Actions. If your organisation uses single sign-on, an SSO Ident column appears as well, showing each person's single sign-on identifier.
A star in the first column marks someone who holds the Organisation Admin role in your organisation. Hover over it to confirm. The star is a marker only. To grant or remove the role, use Roles in the Users menu.
View a user's details
Select the eye button in the Actions column. If a panel slides in over the list, your organisation uses the newer profile. If a full page opens, your organisation uses the "User Information" page. The two views are not the same.
The "User Information" page is the fuller one. It shows the person's username, email address, language, timezone, tags, how many courses they are enrolled on, their organisation reference, and whatever they have filled in for location, function, tag line, summary and websites. Their own notification and privacy choices appear as ticks and crosses.
The newer profile shows the person's profile as it appears elsewhere in Learn:Go. It does not carry the username, tags, enrolment count, organisation reference or the notification and privacy rows.
Troubleshooting
If Users does not appear in the navigation, your roles do not include the permission to view users or the Group Support role.
If you follow a link to the user list and your role does not allow it, Learn:Go takes you to "Home" instead.
