Using your 'Own Vendor' to translate courses
In short, you manage the translations
You export a file from Poet, have it translated externally, and then import it back into Poet.
Select 'Own Vendor' as your translation method.

"Make sure your course content is finalized prior to starting the translation process. The translated text in the Excel files you provide should be final and ready to be integrated into the course."

"Any changes to the English course content will require a new translation file to be downloaded, re-translated, and re-uploaded."
Once you have selected your language, click on the Create Workflow and Extract Content' button and once pressed, it will create the workflow and run the extraction together
You will see 'Poet' starting the 'Translation Workflow'

Once the workflow is created, you will see a page like this:

At any point during the 'Draft' phase of the translation process, you can:
Manage Languages
By clicking on this button, you can check, add, and remove languages from your selection.
Simply click on the 'Cancel' or 'Apply Changes' buttons if you have made any changes to your selected languages.
OR search the language sections in your course or click on the language segments to check each individual segment
Click on the Submit request button once your course is finalized and ready to start the translation process.

This moves the translation process on to the next step
Export language pop-up (click Download when ready)
Provide your vendor with the following:
- The translations Excel file that was generated from Poet
- The Translations Vendor Guidelines (see below)
- A list of the languages you need your course translated into
- A Preview build link to your course for reference (optional)
Translations Vendor Guidelines:
- Do not edit text in columns A, B & C (hash, location, and en)
- Add translated text directly into the Excel template, using the English source text in column C as a guide
- Leave all HTML formatting tags in place (i.e., <br/>, </em>, etc.)
- Ensure all languages are included in the Excel template
- Do not use strikethrough or other special formatting
- Do not attempt to track changes
- Do not insert additional rows or columns
- Do not modify the template (i.e., do not hide rows or columns)
When the translation file has been completed by your vendor, you will need to upload the Excel file to Poet
Importing the translation file back into Poet

Once you have uploaded your translation file Click on the Complete translations button. |

| This moves the progress bar onto the next step in the workflow. | |
| Clicking on Save changes to the course will add the translations to your course. |
- If you see "INFO: TRANSLATION COMPLETED" with no Warning messages means that there are no missing translations, and your course is ready to Preview and Publish.
- If translations are incomplete or if there are any HTML errors, you will be provided a log of warnings to address, and you will need to upload a completed file before moving on.

You are now able to review all of your translations through the Translations review tool
