If you're using the 'Undertake an online course' type of learning experience and have set your game type to branching, linear, or non-linear, the manage content screen will show you multiple pieces of content (objects) in a level structure. Click here to read more about game types.
Here's what a learning experience with multiple levels looks like:
Clicking on a level will reveal the objects within that level:
Here's how it looks in the manage content menu:
Each of these objects can be edited like any other piece of content (click here to read more about managing content) by clicking the next to it:
Adding levels
To add a new level, click NEW LEVEL:
| Name | Add the name of the level that learners will see, whether they've unlocked the level yet or not. |
| Level Group | If you're using the branching game type, you can use this option to select which level group the level will appear in. |
| Difficulty | Use this to dictate how much of the available XP a learner must obtain to complete the level. Click here to read more about XP points. |

The level will not be available until this date. Until then, it will be greyed out like the level on the right here:
|

Objects that learners add, for example in a user contribution, appear in the Moderation menu under Objects. If you are an administrator or tutor of the learning experience, or you have moderation permission for it, you can see who owns each object, type a grade in the Grade field and click the save button, or click the bin icon to delete the object.
Gates
Gates are used to set the learner a final challenge to complete to finish a level. If a gate has been added to a level, it will appear below the objects. The gate will only become available when all the objects are completed.
Adding gates
| Name | The name of the gate. Learners see it as the heading of the gate page when they open the gate. |
| Description |
Enter a description for the gate here.
|
| Gate Type |
Depending on the Gate Type chosen, the last option will differ slightly, as this is where the question will be added.
• Discussion - an open-ended question with a text field to enter a response.
• Contribution - learners must contribute a response. This works like a user contribution object. Click here to read more about user contributions.
• Multiple Choice - adds a multiple choice question to the gate.
• Unmarked Questions - similar to a ‘Discussion’, this adds an open-ended question or questions to a gate.
|
To review how learners answered a gate, go to Moderation, then Gates, and click the name of the gate. For a Discussion or Contribution gate you see each learner's answer. For a Multiple Choice gate you see each learner's result. For an Unmarked Questions gate, click View Answers next to a learner to read their answers. Discussion and Multiple Choice gates also have an Export CSV button.
