Use the Learn:Go admin area to move between its sections and to see where you are. This article shows you the Home screen, the navigation and the header.
Open the Home screen
Home is the first screen of the admin area. Select Home in the navigation to return to it.
The page is titled "Home" and shows "Welcome to Learn:Go Admin".
Home has a greeting, a prompt and a grid of shortcuts.
Home greets you by your first name, for example "Good morning, <your first name>." The greeting changes to "Good afternoon" or "Good evening" with the time of day on your device. If your first name is not known, Home greets you with "there".
Below the greeting, Home asks "What would you like to do today?". The shortcuts under it answer that question.
Start from a shortcut on Home
The shortcut cards on Home take you straight to common tasks. Select a card to open its page.
- Create learning experience opens the page to start a new learning experience.
- Create event opens the page to start a new event.
- Generate report opens the Reports page.
- Build automation opens a separate site in a new browser tab.
The Create learning experience card says "Start with one resource or build structured modules". You need the permission that allows you to create learning experiences. The steps are in Create a learning experience from a single resource and Build a multi-module learning experience.
The Create event card says "Schedule sessions and assign them to your learners". It appears when you have the permission to create events and your organisation uses Events.
The card opens the page where you start the event. In some organisations, the card opens the Events list instead, where you select Create New Event. If you cannot view events, you return to Home from that list.
The Generate report card says "Completion, engagement, users". You need the permission to view reports.
The Build automation card says "Rules-based enrolment, reminders & more". It appears for every admin, because it needs no permission.
Home shows only the cards that your permissions allow. A card that you cannot use does not appear.
Move between sections
The navigation runs down the left side. Select an entry to open that section. The entry for the page you are on is highlighted.
| Entry | Opens |
|---|---|
| Home | The Home screen |
| Learning Experiences | Your learning experiences |
| Events | Your events |
| Assessments | Your assessments |
| Users | Your users |
| Groups | Your groups |
| Orgs | Your organisations |
| Reports | Your reports |
Learn:Go shows an entry only when your roles allow you to view that section, so you may see fewer entries than the table lists.
The pages for Users, Groups, Orgs and Assessments open inside the admin area, but they can look different from the other pages. Events looks like this too in some organisations.
People are managed in two separate entries. Users opens the user list, and Groups opens the group list. You need the permission to view users for Users, and the permission to view groups for Groups.
The steps for finding a person are in Find and view users.
To go back to the start of a section, select its entry in the navigation again while you are in it. In Users, you return to the list of users. In Assessments and Groups, you return to the list you were on, or to the main list if you were on a deeper page such as a create page.
Show or hide the navigation names
The navigation starts narrow, with an icon for each section. To see the names, select the arrow button at the bottom of the navigation, which is labelled Expand navigation. The names then show beside the icons.
To narrow the navigation again, select the same button, which is now labelled Collapse navigation.
While the navigation is narrow, hover over an icon to see the name of its section. Learn:Go remembers your choice in this browser.
Check where you are
The header at the top shows where you are. It starts with Admin, then the pages you opened to get here, for example "Learning Experiences" followed by the name of one learning experience. Select an earlier page in the trail to go back to it. On Home, the trail shows "Home".
The browser tab shows the same place, in the form "Admin / <section>". On Home, the tab shows "Admin".
If you search, filter or sort the list of learning experiences and then open one, the list crumb takes you back to the list as you left it.
Check which organisation you are in
The name of your organisation shows at the top right, next to its logo. If your organisation has no logo, Learn:Go shows the first letters of the first two words of its name instead.
The badge is a label that shows what you are working in.
Troubleshooting
If a link takes you to Home instead of the page you expected, your role does not allow that page.
