Automated Notifications: Due Date Reminders & Overdue Reminders

For any assignment that includes a Due Date the notification settings set at the account level will automatically be enabled for the assignment, including Due Date Reminders and Overdue Reminders.

  • Due Date Reminders: alert the Learner that the Due Date is approaching

  • Overdue Reminders: alert the Learner that an assignment is past the Due Date

Note: Learners receive automated reminders based on your Email Settings

To assign a Guide with automated notifications enabled simply ensure that the assignment includes a Due Date:

  1. Select the Guide you would like to assign

  2. Click Assign Guide in the top right-hand corner

  3. Enter in the User or Group you would like to assign the Guide to

  4. Add a due date

  5. Add a customized message (optional)

Once a Learner has been assigned a Guide they will immediately receive notifications across email & Slack/Teams (based on account setup) notifying them of their guide.

Below is an example of the email Learners will receive once they are assigned a Guide:

Custom Reminder Cadences

To override the reminder cadence set at the account level (here) content creators can establish their own cadence:

  1. Go to the menu dropdown from the Content Overview page

  2. Select 'Notifications'

  3. Click the 'edit' icon next to either the Due Date Reminder or Overdue Reminder

  4. Enter your desired cadence for reminders to be sent

  5. Click 'save'

This also includes the ability to include Managers and Manager's Manager in notifications in order to escalate within the organization to ensure Learner completion is achieved in a timely fashion.

Manual Reminders

To send a manual reminder to a Learner:

  1. Select the appropriate Guide

  2. Click the check box for the Learner / Learners you would like to remind

  3. Click Actions > Remind

  4. Add a message (optional)

This will send a reminder to users who have not completed or passed their Guide assignment.

As an alternative option, you can also click the drop down menu to the right of the Learner and select Remind User.

Note: You can only send one reminder to a user every 5 minutes. If you use the reminder option more than once in a 5 minute span to the same user, they will only receive the first reminder message.

Slack & Teams Reminders

You can also send reminders through Slack and Microsoft Teams!

  1. Click on Settings

  2. Select Integrations

  3. Choose the messaging service you'd like to integrate with

  4. Authenticate with Slack/Teams

  5. Choose which type of notifications to send via direct message

FAQ

  1. If I set a due date reminder at the content level but not an overdue reminder, will the overdue reminder default to the system-wide settings?

    1. Yeah, each of the reminder cadences override their specific reminder type. So if left untouched it'll default to the global settings.
