Question Objects
When creating a guide you have many options for incorporating questions:
Text Answer
Multiple Choice
Hot Spot
Survey
Matching
File Upload
To-Do Checklist
Video Recording
Zoom Recording
Voice Recording
E-Signature
Text Answer
Text Answers allow for testing in a free response format. Learners can submit as little as a few words, or even long formed paragraphs. Some of the most common uses are:
Summaries of content
Open-ended questions
Asking for opinions or asking a Learner to elaborate on a topic
You can also use AI to grade your Text Answer questions. In order to use the Auto-Graded option, the Text Answer question must be graded and also have Reviewer Notes. You can optionally add an Answer Hint or Explanation to help train the AI on how to grade the Text Answer question.
Note: Only Text Answer questions completed in the Employee Learning Platform can be auto-graded using AI.
Multiple Choice
Multiple Choice questions allow you to ask Learners to pick from a selection of options. You also have the ability to select multiple answers for "check all that apply" types of questions.
Hot Spot
Hot Spots allow you to upload a picture and select a portion of the image that is the "correct answer." Learners will see the image and click on it. If they click within the box that you have identified as the right answer, the question will be marked as correct! These are some of the most common used cases:
Identifying an area on the page that someone needs to click or is often forgotten
Identifying a mistake in a form submission
Below is an example of a Hot Spot question:
Survey
Survey questions allow your Learners to rate content within your Guides. The best use case for this question would be to receive feedback from your Learners. The survey question, scale, and labels are all configurable.
Matching
Matching questions ask users to pair objects on the left with the ones on the right. The most important thing to know about matching questions is that pairs need to be unique. Meaning, it's best NOT to have the same phrase repeated multiple times on the left or right. For instance, the example below, all the answers are blue, but because one answer is trying to account for multiple responses users won't know how to tell which blue is supposed to be paired with the right answer.
The best way to use matching questions is to ensure one unique response matches to one unique answer. See example below:
The second half of the Question submission objects involve uploading content for your review. The best part about these features is when you get submissions, those files can be downloaded and used again in other trainings.
File Upload
The File Upload allows you to collect any type of file. It's best when you want to gather screenshots, PowerPoints, Word documents, PDFs, or any number of other files that help you confirm that a Learner completed an assignment, or understands a concept.
Video Recording
Video Recording works almost the same way as "Record a Video" for building out content. However, with Video Recording your Learners are submitting the video and will not be able to share their screen. If you would like for Learners to share their screen when recording, then read below about our Zoom Recording feature!
Zoom Recording
Here at WorkRamp we like Zoom Recordings! When a Learner goes to record a video with Zoom they will be prompted with a short set of instructions on how to open the application and what to expect (i.e. that the video will start recording automatically). Zoom recordings allow you to share your screen, invite other users, and benefit from all the functionality the Zoom application uses normally.
Voice Recording
Voice Recordings are useful in order to test how a Learner will sound leaving a voicemail or answering questions on the phone. This feature is only available for US callers.
When you receive a voice recording that you really like, you can download it and use it in other trainings by simply uploading it to the "Audio" Content Object!
NOTE: Learners will not be able to retake the voice recording after it's been submitted through the Guide. They can only retake it after recording it during the call.
E-Signature
Lastly, with the E-Signature object you have the ability to have your Learners enter their electronic signature. The E-Signature object is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant. Admins can choose to capture the signature reason, and/or require email verification from the Learner. The date and timestamp will be captured and are viewable in the "View Submissions" page. There are also separate date/timestamps available for the signature completion and email verification completion available in the Report Builder.
