This article summarises what changed in the OnScreen release of 8 August 2026, for administrators and content authors who manage guides, announcements and resources. It covers two new features, two improvements, the bug fixes shipped alongside them, and where to follow what is coming next.

What's new
We've been busy. This release is all about making content easier to format, organise, and control across the board. We've given branding a serious upgrade, with an expanded font library, precise size controls, and support for your own proprietary fonts, so your content looks exactly the way your brand guidelines demand. Resources now support grouping too, making it much easier for learners to find what they need in the Knowledge Hub.
On top of that, admins get a new restricted publisher role for tighter governance, plus account-wide defaults with local overrides so every user starts from a consistent baseline. Read on for the full details, and as always, more is on the way.

Font Customization and Branding
What it is
An expanded, web-safe font library (including Inter, Montserrat, and Open Sans), a numeric font size field in place of the old dropdown, and support for custom proprietary fonts. Font options are now consistent across Guides and Announcements.
Why you'll love it
A number of customers asked for tighter brand alignment in their content. Now you can pick from a wider range of professional fonts, set an exact size instead of guessing from a list, and even bring your own brand fonts into the mix.
How to use it
Choose a font from the expanded list in 'Branding' settings or the content editor, type an exact pixel size for precise control, and add your own custom font names under 'Branding' > 'Custom Fonts'.
Restricted Publisher Role
What it is
A new role that limits the 'Assign' (publish) action to only the users you designate.
Why you'll love it
This gives administrators tighter control over what goes live, helping prevent unapproved content from reaching end users and supporting a more controlled publishing workflow.
How to use it
Assign the new Publisher role to the specific users who should be responsible for publishing content.
📌 Note: All existing authors created before 8 August 2026 have this permission by default. Any new author who needs to publish content must be assigned the permission in addition.

Resource Grouping
What's changed
You can now organise resources into named groups directly in the editor, and those groups are rendered as clear, collapsible sections in the Knowledge Hub and Launcher pop-ups.
Why you'll love it
Learners can now find what they need much faster, instead of scrolling through one long, flat list of resources. Ungrouped resources still display neatly, so nothing gets lost in the transition.
How to use it
In the editor, assign any resource to a new or existing group, and reorder groups and resources however you like.
Account Level Defaults and Local Overrides
What's changed
Administrators can now set account-wide defaults for 'Show all guides', 'Show all languages', and the Content Filter (All, Guides or Resources).
Why you'll love it
This gives every user a consistent starting experience that reflects your organisation's priorities, while still respecting individual preference, because users can override the defaults locally in their own extension.
How to use it
Set your organisation's defaults in account settings. Users can adjust these locally at any time from their own extension.
Bug fixes and small enhancements
- The 'Launch URL in New Window' announcement action now correctly opens the URL in a new window.
- EasyQuery now includes a URL field for more flexible querying.
- Usage metrics views now carry a row identifier, consistent with the Tooltips usage metrics view, to better support reporting.
- Creating or editing a user through the API no longer changes their activation status.
