The Page settings are where you can determine what role that page has in the overall structure of your course. Each Page can have its own unique combination of settings, which can allow you to craft different ways the learner interacts with your course.
For example, you can decide whether to apply Rules to the page to create personalized or branching scenarios; set its completion requirement so that the page is only considered complete when the learner has fulfilled specific actions, like submitting a score; and even prevent a learner from progressing until they have achieved that completion requirement.
Accessing Page settings
1. Open any page in a Project for which you want to access the Page settings.
2. Select the Page settings button towards the top right of the page:
3. This will open the Page settings modal which contains a number of tabs.
Layout
In the Layout tab there are a maximum of two options to enable.
Would you like to treat this chapter as a SCORM objective? allows you to determine whether you would like the chapter to be considered as an ‘objective’ by your LMS. This option is disabled by default.
Would you like this page to appear in the Course Menu? allows you to determine whether the page will appear in the course’s header menu:
| Note: Would you like to treat this chapter as a SCORM objective? is only available for the first page of each chapter. |
Scoring & Completion
On the Scoring & Completion tab you have the option to decide how that page will be considered as completed. From the dropdown menu you can choose either of the following options:
- User opening the page: The page will be completed upon the learner opening the page. This is the default setting.
- User opening ALL PARTS of the page (e.g. hotspots or tabs, or watching to the end for a video): The page will be considered as complete only when the learner has interacted with all the relative elements on the page.
- User submitting a score: The page is considered as complete when the learner has submitted an answer to a question.
- User submitting a CORRECT score: The page is considered as complete when the learner has submitted a correct answer to a question:
Prevent progress until complete allows you to apply page locking to that page, ensuring the learner can’t move forward until the page completion criteria has been met.
Automatically progress to the next page upon completion of any videos allows you to set the page to navigate the learner to the next page upon completion of a video on the page.
If the page is scored, you then have the option to Adjust the page's Score weighting to determine how many points that page contributes towards the overall score of the course.
By default, a learner’s final result will automatically be reported when they reach the final page of the course. When Send final score on this page is enabled on a page, it forces the final result to be reported on that page instead. This is useful for branching courses that have more than one possible ending page.
| Tip: Send final score on this page is not required to be enabled in order for the learner to be able to submit a score for a question on that page. If you’d like the learner to be able to submit a score, then you should set the page’s completion requirement to User submitting a score or User submitting a correct score. |
Rules
Rules can be used if you only want a page or chapter to be accessible once the learner has completed a set of actions that would satisfy the Rule’s criteria. For example, you may have a quiz and want to direct your learners to a Pass or Fail page at the end, based on how they scored. Alternatively, you may want to branch your course into different paths for your learner to go down, based on the decisions they’ve made. See our article Getting started with Rules to learn more:
On the Rules tab you can also determine whether the page is part of an existing Question Pool or create a new pool to which pages can be added.
Achievements
The Achievements tab lets you decide whether you want to use a Badge to reward achievement. You have the option to choose any of our preset Badges or you can upload a JPG, PNG, or GIF file of your choice to create a new Badge:
Time limits
The Time limits tab allows you to set time limits for Pages and Chapters within your course and choose whether they are redirected elsewhere when the timer is up. This is a useful setting if you want to have a time limit for a learner taking a quiz:
