Variations Manager is a central hub which allows you to manage your multi-lingual content. Here you can carry out various actions relating to your Variations including adding more Variations, renaming or deleting any existing Variations, configuring which Variations appear in a Multi-Language Release and more.
You can access Variations Manager by selecting Variations Manager in the Project toolbar.
If you access Variations Manager from a standalone Project (as opposed to a Parent Course) you'll be prompted to convert the Project into a Parent before you can begin creating Variations.
| Caution: Converting a Project into a Parent Course (and vice versa) will delete any existing releases that have been made from that Project. |
Creating Variations
You can create Variations by uploading translated CSV or XLIFF files, using Auto-Translate or manually creating them yourself.
The Export Translation and Make new Variations buttons can be used to download and upload translation files in order to translate your content.
You can find out more about translation using Parent and Variations in the Multi-language course creation section.
Each Variation will show the method that was used to create it under the Method column and the date it was last translated in the Last Import column.
Variations can be renamed by typing in the fields under the Name in Release column.
Arranging Variations
Once you've created Variations, they will appear in the Variation list:
Re-arrange your Variations by using the icon to drag and drop them into your preferred position. This will determine in which order they appear to the learner in the language selector of a Multi-Language Release.
You can use the In Release checkbox to configure which Variations appear in your Multi-Language Release.
