Advanced Search enables search matches from within resources that are used in your learning experience objects, offering more comprehensive results beyond standard learning experience and object titles and descriptions.
'Advanced search' is available for Professional and Enterprise tier organisations. Please contact Learning Pool Support to have this enabled.
If you do not have these tiers, please contact your Learning Pool Account Manager or Customer Success Manager.
Currently supported resource content types:
- Adapt
- Learning Pool Authoring (formerly known as Adapt Builder)
- Rise - not all versions supported *
- Storyline - not all versions supported *
* If you find your Rise or Storyline content is not being indexed, please raise it with Support and we will add this version to our content indexing system. Rise and Storyline change the structure so often that it is only possible to update the content indexing retrospectively.
How it works
When a learner receives an advanced search match within a supported resource content type, they will see a search result card like this example for a PDF:
The learner can then go directly to the page of the PDF where their search term is found, in this case page 7. Or they can click on the learning experience title to launch the learning experience, in this case, 'AI Conversations Engagement Pack'. If the resource is used in more than one learning experience, the card also shows a 'See all {count} learning experiences' button, for example 'See all 3 learning experiences'. Select it to open the 'More Learning Experiences' sidebar. The sidebar lists the learning experiences that contain the resource and that the learner can access. It does not list learning experiences that are closed, or that the learner cannot see and is not enrolled in. Select 'Info' to see the details of a learning experience, or select 'Launch' to open it in a new tab. If the list is long, select 'Load more' to see more learning experiences.
Even if the search term is found many times within the resource, the resource gives only one search result card. For a PDF or an Adapt resource, the card has a 'See all pages containing' button, followed by your search term in quotation marks. Select it to see the other pages where the term is found. The card shows the words around the highlighted search term. For a PDF, the card also shows the page number, for example 'Page 7'. This enables learners to see how the term is used in the resource and to choose the page that is most relevant to them.
